Welcome to the homepage of the Purchasing and Contracting Department of DeKalb County. Our efforts to provide a fair, broad-based and competitive arena for the entire marketplace result from our core belief that public sector procurement must achieve the very best value.
In 2014, we implemented structural changes, to include a new Purchasing Policy and many best practice implementations, in order to foster the realization that the County’s procurement strategies needed to change. If you have done business with the County in the past, then you will note these changes. If you are new to the County, then your experience with us will resemble the very best of other jurisdictions. To all interested parties, welcome!
We seek valued, competent business partners with each purchase. This goal could not be met without active quotes, bids and proposals from for-profit and non-profit entities that seek opportunities to EARN our business. At the same time, we strive to become a better customer. DeKalb County is a consistent buyer of many goods and services year after year. Within these pages, you will find necessary information about the County. We include common FAQs, How-to data, and current contracting opportunities among other pages of information.
It is also important to know that the County seeks to encourage local small business growth. Our Local Small Business Enterprise (LSBE) program demonstrates our belief that small business is the backbone of America. The LSBE Ordinance, enacted by our Board of Commissioners in 2006, was created with the intention of providing earned revenue to local certified businesses through our competitive, earned process. That philosophy continues today.
In closing, please make yourself familiar with our content, especially our current contracting opportunities and give us your very best offers. If you are fortunate enough to earn one of our contracts, then deliver your very best. The citizens of DeKalb County are good people and they deserve our very best!
