William "Wiz" Miller
William “Wiz” Miller is the Director of the DeKalb County Public Safety Office. As Director, William oversees the Police Department, Fire & Rescue Services, Animal Services, Code Enforcement, the 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center, the DeKalb Emergency Management Agency (DEMA), Recorder’s Court, and the Medical Examiner’s office.
Prior to becoming Public Safety Director, William prosecuted felony cases as an Assistant District Attorney in the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office. Prior to joining the District Attorney’s Office, William served 20 years in the DeKalb County Police Department.
William attained his bachelor’s degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University in Atlanta and his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law.
